Athletes advance to Nationals
Once again the formidable spirit of the Lasallian athletes soared to great heights as they bagged medals during the National Capital Region (NCR) Palaro 2019 held February 24 to March 1 at the Marikina Sports Center.
Senior high school student Gabriel Enrico Florendo (12F) emerged champion in the Athletics-Shot Put Secondary Division. Julius Gonzales (12K) and Ted Laminta (9H) were conferred 2019 NCR Champions in Chess and in Swimming, respectively.
The high school basketball team landed first runner-up while the football team finished second. The following are the members of the basketball team: Francis Leo Lopez (8J); Marc Angelo Torrijos (10D); Mark Kenshin Padrones and Jan Clement Macalalag (10E); Jesseray Giancarlo Arciaga (10I); Eidref Lennox Valenzuela (11F); Recaredo Christian Calimag, Enrique Miguel Reyes and Jacob Zion Cortez (11G); Rance Angelo Romero (12H); Luis Sebastian Locsin (12I) and Frans Jared Lao (12K).
The high school football team is composed of Raphaelle Gianne Aquino and Lorenzo Iñigo Lim (10A); Raphaelle Gionne Aquino and Christian Miguel Quilitis (10C); Christopher Jame Catindig and Fernando Gabriel Suarez (10D); Carlos Vicente Lozano (10E); Michael Enzo Alvaera and Paolo Rafael Fernandez (10G); Juan Guillermo Gabriel Canon (10I); Vin Joel Dela Cruz (10J); Carlo Miguel Fernandez (11F); Carlos Emmanuel Andan (11H); Rafael Jose Maria Gonzaga and Greg Naquines (11I); Jethro Adriel Borlongan (11J); Andres Clemente, Antonio Joaquin Avecilla and Gabriel Vincent Resuma (11K); Antonio Alforque, Jr. (11M) and Loyd Soco (12F).
With the distinctions under their belts, Florendo, Gonzales and Laminta will represent the region in the Palarong Pambansa. Also raising the banner of LSGH as members of the NCR delegation are the basketball and footballs teams of the elementary division. The Palarong Pambansa will be held in Davao City this April 27 to May 4.
