VISION-MISSION STATEMENT

The Lasallian Institute For the Environment (LIFE) aims to have a healthy environment sustained by a society knowledgeable about and aware of their environment, through education. And through education, LIFE partners with 16 De La Salle Schools in the Philippines by maximizing each school’s strength and advantage at any certain activity of field of expertise.

THE CREDO

LIFE educates beyond brain exercise. The Institute educates to touch hearts. While the concepts and principles of the environment and how it works can always be taught and learned, LIFE goes beyond that. It instills values and empathy in its pedagogy. Among all the conservation and management efforts that the institution has done and is doing, the paradigm shift and the shift to lifestyle and habits are the ones ultimately goal to attain. This is the impact that LIFE hopes to achieve more to its community. The change of behavior and the change of thinking that earth is just a resource to consume not a living entity to take care of. The Lasallian community counts on impacts made in the people and in the environment—not by the number of trees planted, not by the carbons calculated, and not by the number of people trained. The number of lives being transformed are accounts more on its books and reports.
