The 2025 Joint Council Workshop, held on January 7 at the Malate Ballroom of Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle in Manila, brought together representatives from various Lasallian Councils across the Philippines. The event focused on aligning the network’s mission and values, while addressing emerging challenges in education. Key discussions centered on strategies for educational excellence, leadership, governance, and shared services, led by Lasallian leaders such as Mr. Edgar O. Chua AFSC and Br. Jose Mari L. Jimenez, FSC. A highlight of the workshop was the unveiling of Project Miles, the rebranded version of Project 2022, marking a new chapter in Lasallian education innovation.
The year 2025 marks a Jubilee Year for the Lasallian community, celebrating key milestones in honor of St. John Baptist De La Salle. This includes the 300th anniversary of the Bull of Approbation, the 125th anniversary of his canonization, and the 75th anniversary of his designation as the Universal Patron of Teachers. Under the theme Lasallian Pilgrims of Hope, the year invites reflection on St. La Salle’s legacy, renewing our commitment to education, faith, and community empowerment. As we journey together, we celebrate our heritage and continue to transform lives through the Lasallian mission.
In this special edition of the Central House Journal, we highlight two significant events for the De La Salle Brothers, Philippines, Inc. (DLSBI) and the Lasallian Institute for the Environment (LIFE). This issue takes an in-depth look at DLSBI’s recent accreditation by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC), a major achievement that underscores the organization’s commitment to transparency and accountability. We also explore the LIFE-hosted immersion at the La Salle Botanical Garden, which took place during the Central House Administration General Assembly.
Indigenous communities, despite centuries of marginalization, have remained unwavering in preserving their values, knowledge, and spirituality. This year’s pastoral letter invites you to explore the profound lessons they offer as we reflect on how encounters with Indigenous cultures can lead to both personal and collective transformation.
Through stories of companionship, solidarity, and inner growth, we are called to reimagine education and reconnect with the timeless wisdom that continues to nurture and inspire our world.
DLSBI Receives PCNC Accreditation: A Milestone of Integrity and Service. This milestone reflects the collective dedication of our Lasallian family. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the PCNC, as well as our donors and partners, whose trust and support make it possible for us to continue creating meaningful, lasting change in the lives of those we serve.
