Thank You, Teacher.

"The books are important, and so are the pencils, blackboards, and the chairs, but if there are no teachers, who will bear the weight and the responsibility of educating the next generation?"

As we celebrate World Teacher's Day, let us all thank the people who made a difference in our lives - our Teachers.

Panalanging Lasalyano

The 26th of July 2013 marked a special day for DLSP and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) as Yamie Fiestada, Basil de Leon, and Jonathan San Juan were commissioned to comprise the first batch of deaf Lasallian Volunteers of the Lasallian Volunteer Program. These three Volunteers are deaf alumni of DLS-CSB’s School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies.

In a simple send-off Eucharistic celebration held at the Chapel of Resurrection at DLS-CSB, the three deaf Volunteers offered their prayer of commitment to help carry-out the Lasallian Mission in Ozamiz City as teaching assistants in La Salle University’s School for the Deaf. Present at the Eucharistic celebration and commissioning rites were Br. Jose Mari Jimenez FSC, Sector Leader and DLSP President, as well as DLS-CSB President, Br. Dennis Magbanua FSC.

Let us continue to pray for Yamie, Basil, and Jonathan as well as the other 10 Volunteers comprising Batch 17 of the program that they continue to be steadfast in their commitment in the education of the underprivileged youth. May they likewise continue to inspire others to volunteer for the Mission.
